LOS ANGELES, CA, August 2, 2010 – Award winning artist/activist Geela Parish today announced the launch of Operation healing for the world & Giving with the Stars a campaign of hope, healing and peace featuring a charity CD For the Love of God. The divinely inspired peace song was written by Geela Parish for the purpose of bringing global attention to the urgent need for all people to come together before it’s too late. “As we approach The International Day of Peace (September 21st), it’s important to carry on the work of Gandhi and Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and recognize that everyone including the environment is impacted by the growing threat of nuclear war and the devastating consequences of senseless violence, regardless of financial status, religion or ethnicity. It’s crucial to advance the cause of peace and non-violence because our ability to co-exist is the one condition of survival in a nuclear age,” says Geela Parish, a longtime and very passionate peace advocate. “Sadly, we’re all victims of centuries of brainwashing and manipulation by those who divide and conquer for self-serving purposes. It’s ignorance that divides us. We fail to recognize the spirit that connects us all and to understand the unity in all living things, like strands in the same web of life. What God really needs is for people who are made in His image, to act in his image,” adds Geela, a visionary social entrepreneur and author of the critically acclaimed book The American Dream. What makes this campaign unique is the fact that it’s the brainchild of an American who originally came from a region that has never known peace, the epicenter of senseless violence, the volatile Middle East. It was an experience that has sparked Geela’s life long passion for bringing people together and putting an end to the insanity and futility of war if only for what all religions have in common: the love of God.
The campaign of hope featuring For the Love of God, which has been recorded by various artists including Patti Labelle, is the current project of the grassroots movement Women Transforming The World which is part of the nonprofit organization One Spirit, One World also founded by Geela Parish. The song as recorded by Geela Parish is accompanied by a compelling You Tube video.
The campaign’s mission is to make a global social impact by raising awareness about the urgent need to advance the cause of peace and preservation of the natural world while inspiring hope and giving. A significant portion of the proceeds from the sale of the song recorded by Geela will be donated to charitable organizations that support world peace and victims of war-torn countries and natural disasters, including the rebuilding of Haiti.
Many people have contributed their talents and time to the success of this campaign especially Women’s Radio where Geela serves as a host and a contributor, world-renowned photographer Ben Heine and publicist Adrienne Papp.
“I truly believe that by leveraging the power of music, celebrities and media it’s possible to accelerate the process by which we can affect change positively for the benefit of all humanity,” says Geela whose social consciousness has always been an integral part of her transformative music and all other endeavors. She is very encouraged by the tremendous response to the YouTube video shortly after its release. It has been picked up and ranked on top play and bestselling video lists of such reputable international websites as www.univision.com, www.worldnews.com and www.videosurf.com
Plans for the song include recording it in different genres and languages. Geela hopes this campaign will inspire more celebrities to come on board to advance the cause of peace and create a tsunami of compassion to overcome senseless violence and confront the challenges facing us all today. With so many miracles in Geela’s life, all she needs is another miracle, if only for the love of God. Now that’s passion to really feel good about.
People can support the cause by purchasing the song digitally through online retailers such as iTunes, CDbaby.com, and Amazon.com. To donate online please visit www.womentransformingtheworld.com
